One more competition will be held as a part of the "Northern Forest" Baja 2009. Besides being the first round of the FIA International Cup and the first round of the Russian Championship, "Northern Forest" will become the second round of the Latvian Rally-Raid Championship.

The Latvian Automobile Federation applied to the organisers of the Russian Baja with a request for holding an official competition of the Latvian race series on "Northern Forest"'s route. Competitors from Latvia will take part in the race under the Russian regulations, but will be awarded with points according to their national championship's rules.

The entry list of "Northern Forest" will be supplemented by the Latvian crews. However, they won't be included in the Russian classification unless they additionally acquire the Russian racing license.
