Portuguese driver Nuno Matos, the national reigning rally-raid champion in Group T2, makes another important step in his career by taking part in the FIA International Cup for Cross-Country Bajas in the Production category behind the wheel of Isuzu D-Max, with Philipe Serra performing as his regular co-driver also for the first time.

The crew has already confirmed its participation in the Northern Forest Baja, which will be held on February 26th-28th 50 kms North of Saint-Petersburg, Russia. The driver said: "It will be a double debut for me: Besides it being the first event in the FIA Cup where I take part (except for Baja Portalegre), it will be the first time for me driving on the snow surface, which is a very difficult task". He added: "My aim for this event is to get driving experience in the conditions, drastically different to those I'm used to, and hopefully get first points to my account in the FIA Cup".

At the moment Nuno Matos and his team are busy with final preparations and are obtaining necessary documents, which is important due to the fact that a travel from the EU to Russia is quite complicated. However, organisers are doing their best to help the team and hope that eventually they have everything required to go to Saint-Petersburg.
