A motorsport competition is unique for every sportsman. Each has their own background, their own storyline according to which the race underwent, their own conclusion and, finally, own and peculiar feelings and emotions.

So why are the winners are awarded with standard and uniform prizes? Let them be unique and special! Precisely such hand-made Cups and medals were made for our winners at the Kiev plant of Art Glass.

The master of glass treatment and the plant's CEO Viktor Chernitskiy shared with us some details of the glass manufacturing process.

 

The temperature of smelted glass in a furnace reaches 1450 degrees. Then the glass is cooled down to 1200 degrees which is the working point temperature. The master gets some glass on his blowpipe, which is called "bor", and blows up a bulb of required form. For creating a complicated shape, for example, it's needed to wave the bor heavily. The vase takes its hemispheric form after cutting the glass bulb in half.

The finished prize is placed in a furnace for taking away the thermal stress - the vase is put into the sand warmed up to 520 degrees. During the night temperature in the oven is dropping, and by the morning the Cup is ready. 

 

 

 

- В первую очередь, это творчество, и лишь во вторую – ремесло, - говорит Виктор Чернецкий. – Каждый выдувальщик должен быть немножко художником.

 

Так же, наверное, как и любой спортсмен. Приемы руления, выбор правильной траектории, позднее торможение – это только техника, которая отточена любым спортсменом до автоматизма. Спроси у автогонщика, что такое ралли-рейд? Он ответит словами, передающими эмоции и чувства, а техника управления автомобилем вспомнится ему лишь потом. Пусть же призы, сделанные с любовью и добрыми пожеланиями, будут и через много лет возвращать вам неповторимые воспоминания о гонке, на которой вы стали самыми быстрыми.
