The race has not started yet, all the fighting and adrenaline is still before them... Today the stars of Russia's and world motorsport, in expectation of intriguing start of the new season, answer the question: "Why do you participate in Baja Northern Forest"?

 

Boris Gadasin – 2 times FIA International Cup for Cross-Country Bajas winner; 2 times Russian Champion
I like this round very much and believe it is the best in Russia both by organisation and by the route. I have taken part in it for many years.

 

Krzystof Holowczyc – 4 times Poliash Champion; European Rally Champion
This was my dream! I kept an eye on Northern Forest for three years and dreamed to take part in it. It's fantastic! Snow, ice and studded tyres! And the city of Saint-Petersburg – I never have been there, but saw the photos, it's breath-taking... We will fight!

 

Roman Elagin – World Cup for Cross-Country Rallies winner (T2); FIA International Cup for Cross-Country Bajas winner in co-drivers classification
Very interesting and worthy cross-country event, best in Russia. How could we pass by it?! Beautiful area, perfectly developed route. Besides, it is the beginning of the season now, we haven't seen our friends for some time, glad to meet them again on the route.

Yury Borovikov – 2 times USSR Champion, 7Russian Champion
I like winter races and strong rivals.

 

Alexander Mironenko – FIA International Cup for Cross-Country Bajas winner in co-drivers classification
«Two in one» : Russian Championship and FIA International Cup. Who would ignore this?

 

Vladimir Frolov – Russian Vice Champion; Russian Cup winner
This is a first round of Russian Championship, new fighting starts for us.

Bogdan Novitsky – 3 times Ukraine Champion
This round is very special, can be compared to nothing.

Binjamin Jepayev – Many times Russian Champion in autocross
This is the only winter stage of the Russian Championship, it's much faster than the Russian Cup winter stages, and the entry list is impressive. And beautiful surroundings... although this is just a bonus here.

 

Bogdan Vavrenyuk – Russian Vice Champion, Russian Cup winner
It's an excellent race, well organised and with interesting route.

Alexander Zheludov – Russian Champion in autocross; 2 times Russian Champion in rally
"Northern Forest" has always drawn together very competitive participants. For me it's a challenge, what we are capable of with such rivals. The route is also of great interest, I enjoyed it when I took part in NF 2007. This is a step forward for me.

Balazs Szalay – Central Europe Trophy winner
I like to taste something new. The snow, ice and studded tyres. Secondly, I never competed in Russia and would like to try it.

Aleksandr Oleynikov – 3 times Russian Champion; Ukraine Cup winner
I like this route, speed and adrenaline. Nice race, very nice! Nervous, demanding total concentration. Seconds count here, no time for any correction, just no errors should be made. This race is a matter of driving, it shows who is what kind of pilot.

 

Riccardo Garosci – World Champion in T2
I like snow and ice, but we have so little of it in Italy. And I like illimited space, all covered with snow, and trees all around!

 

Nuno Matos – 3 times Portugese Champion
New experience for me : snow and ice surface. No sportsman would pass by such an adventure!
