SS5. Will he overhaul him or not?

Baja Russia. A.Zheludov/A.Rudnitskiy

This question is frequantly asked by the supporters and journalists on the final day of the Baja. And the nearer finish the more often you can hear it. The leaders of almost all the categories don't manage to stretch their lead and the competitors are closer and closer.

Boris Gadasin won the SS having reduced the gap between him and the leaders of the FIA International Cup - Krzystof Holowczyc and Alexander Zheludov. But the driver from St-Petersburg had 12 minutes behind of the Polish driver which proved too much. However, the gap
between Gadasin and the driver from Odintsovo was only 3 minutes 44 seconds. A lot?

But on SS5 Gadasin took back 3 minutes and 10 seconds from Zheludov. Will he overhaul him or not?

Baja Russia. A.Yaskov/K.Chapaev

In Group T2 Alexey Yaskov made up for the time he lost on the morning SS -  he won. Viktor Volikov
was 1 minute and 12 seconds behind of him. Thanks to this result Yaskov took 2nd place pushing back Alexander Oleynikov. In Group T2 Volikov is still in 1st place followed by Yaskov with 2 minutes and 42 seconds behind. Will he overhaul him or not?

Baja Russia. B.Vavrenjuk/P.Kostenko

The leader of the National category Yury Borovikov lost a lot of time stuck in the snow. He took only 3rd place at the finish with 3 minutes behind the winner of the SS Bogdan Vavrenjuk. Now only one SS is left and the gap between Yury and Bogdan is 33.3 seconds. Will he overhall him or not?

In the Latvian Championship though the situation is more or less clear - the gaps between three leaders are in tens minutes.

Unfortunately the number of retirements doen't reduce. Riccardo Garosci had to stop because of the gear box's problems. Artem Novikov rolled over but kept on moving despite a broken windscreen. And Arthur Murashkin retired as well.

Garosci became the first foreign participant to retire from the Baja "Russia - Northern Forest 2010".

The other foreign drivers continues to strive for victory - Krzystof Holowczyc is the leader in the International Cup, Balazs Szalay is 7th and Nuno Matos is 9th in overall and 4th in Group T2.
